Mandala Embroidery Steps
You don’t have to stick to my instructions — Feel free to use your favorite colors and stitches!
Fill the center circle with the satin stitch using 6 strands of thread #828.
Next, add lazy daisy stitches around the center with 6 strands of thread #741.
Next add a back stitch using 4 strands of black thread.
Add french knots at the tip in black. Use 4 strands with 2 wraps.
Use 6 strands of thread #828 with 2 wraps to add a cute French knot above the orange lazy daisy stitches.
Next, add a chain stitch along the ‘round petals’ using 4 strands of thread #321.
Then add a back stitch using 4 strands of thread #3052 to the shapes between each ‘petal’.
Finish the mandala off with 6 strands of thread #321 using the lazy daisy stitch at the tips.
To tidy up the hoop and make it giftable, add felt to the back of your hoop to hide the thread. You can use hot glue or sew either a whipped stitch or blanket stitch (my preferred method).
