This Privacy Policy explains how Bella Savoy LLC (”Bella Savoy” or the “Publisher”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit BellaSavoy.com (the “Site”), subscribe to the newsletter, or make a purchase. Bella Savoy is the data controller for the information described here.

The Site is hosted on Substack, which has its own Privacy Policy and is responsible for its own data practices, including its own cookies.

1. Information collected

Information you provide. When you subscribe, comment, buy a product, or contact Bella Savoy, the Publisher may receive your name, email address, subscription and payment status, and anything you include in messages or comments. Comments you post may be publicly visible.

Information collected through Substack. Substack provides Bella Savoy with subscriber and readership information, such as subscription status and engagement with newsletters (for example, whether an email was opened or a link was clicked).

Payment information. Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe through Substack. Bella Savoy does not see or store full card numbers. It receives limited details such as your name, email address, subscription status, and payment amounts. Digital product purchases made on Payhip are described in section 3.

Providing your email address is necessary to receive the newsletter or make a purchase. All other information is optional.

2. How information is used

Bella Savoy does not make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects.

3. Who information is shared with

Information is shared only with providers needed to operate the publication. Each has its own privacy policy.

• Substack hosts the Site, delivers newsletters, manages subscriptions and comments, and provides readership statistics. It handles subscriber information on Bella Savoy’s behalf and, separately, for its own purposes as described in its privacy policy.

• Stripe processes payments for paid subscriptions made through Substack. See stripe.com/privacy.

• Payhip processes digital product purchases made through links to its site, using payment providers such as Stripe. Payhip collects payment and order details under its own privacy policy, and Bella Savoy receives limited purchase information, such as your name, email address, and what you bought, to deliver the product, provide support, and keep tax and accounting records. • Amazon receives information when you follow affiliate links (see section 5).

Bella Savoy does not sell personal information. Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to protect legal rights, or in connection with a sale or transfer of the business.

4. Cookies, email tracking, and Do Not Track

Cookies. Substack sets its own cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, and understand how the Site is used. These are described in Substack’s privacy policy. Bella Savoy does not add its own analytics or advertising cookies or tracking pixels to the Site. Third-party content that appears in posts, such as embedded videos or social media posts, may set its own cookies, and Amazon, Stripe, and Payhip may set cookies when you visit their sites.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may stop working.

Email tracking. Newsletters are sent through Substack, which records whether emails are opened and whether links are clicked. This helps Bella Savoy understand readership. Substack handles this tracking under its own privacy policy. You can reduce it by blocking images in your email app, or you can unsubscribe at any time.

Do Not Track. The Site does not respond to Do Not Track signals, and Substack and other third parties may collect information about your online activity across sites.

5. Affiliate links

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Some links on the Site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, Bella Savoy may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Amazon may use cookies to track referrals and purchases, and its handling of your data is governed by Amazon’s privacy notice.

6. International transfers

Bella Savoy is based in the United States, and the providers above process information in the United States and other countries. If you are in the UK, EU, or EEA, your information may be transferred outside those regions. Where it is, Bella Savoy relies on safeguards such as providers’ certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension (as Substack has certified) or Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. How long information is kept

Subscriber information is kept while you remain subscribed and deleted or anonymized within a reasonable time after you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, except where it must be kept for legal reasons. Purchase and payment records are kept as long as required for tax and legal purposes. Substack and other providers keep information according to their own policies.

8. Your rights and choices

Everyone. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, and you can manage or delete your Substack account in Substack’s settings.

UK, EU, and EEA readers. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your personal information, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. You may also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk).

California and other US state residents. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information is held about you and to request its correction or deletion. Bella Savoy does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To make a request, email inquiries@bellasavoy.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” Bella Savoy may need to verify your identity and will respond within one month, or within any shorter period required by law. Because Substack and other providers may hold information that Bella Savoy cannot directly access or change, Bella Savoy may need to direct you to their request procedures.

9. Security

Bella Savoy relies on the security measures of Substack, Stripe, and its other providers and takes reasonable care with any information it holds. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 18, and Bella Savoy does not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, please make contact and it will be deleted.

11. Third-party links and changes to this policy

The Site links to websites and services that Bella Savoy does not control, including Amazon and Payhip. This policy does not apply to them, so review their privacy policies before sharing information.

This policy may be updated from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version, and material changes will be announced on the Site or by email.
